Guidelines

Guidelines Living Practice (All Locations)

Living Practice operates according to professional guidelines. These are rules and agreements that ensure clarity between us about how the therapy will proceed, how I handle your information, and what you can do if you’re not satisfied with something. These guidelines are set up to protect both you as the client and me as the therapist, providing transparency throughout the process.

On this page, you’ll find all the practical information regarding these practices, including the rules we both adhere to. If you have any questions, feel free to ask; I’m happy to take the time to answer them.

Informed Consent

Once we have scheduled an appointment, you will receive a confirmation email from me containing practice information, an intake form to complete, and an Informed Consent (treatment agreement) for you to sign. This is a standard procedure that outlines the agreements regarding the therapy.

Confidentiality and Reporting Code

Sessions are strictly confidential. This means the information you share will not be disclosed to others without your consent.

In exceptional situations where your safety or that of others is at risk, the Reporting Code for Domestic Violence and Child Abuse will be used. This code provides a step-by-step plan for identifying and responding to suspected unsafe situations. You can read more about the reporting code through this link.

Complaints Procedure

If you, as a client, have a complaint about the care provided, please discuss it directly with me. This way, we can review it together and come to an agreement or solution.

If we cannot resolve the issue together or if for any reason you prefer not to speak with me, I offer you free access to an independent complaints officer.

This is a requirement under the Dutch Healthcare Quality, Complaints, and Disputes Act (Wkkgz). You can read more about this here.

To ensure this, I am affiliated with NIBIG. In addition to access to an independent complaints officer, this also provides the possibility of involving a disputes committee in the next phase. Furthermore, my practice is insured with a legally required professional and business liability insurance.

Privacy and Retention of Client Information

During therapy, I collect certain personal information, such as your contact details, health information, and notes from the intake and sessions. This information is needed to tailor the therapy and provide the best possible support.

I handle your data with the utmost care. It is only used for the purposes it was provided for and will be retained in accordance with applicable privacy laws. You can view the full privacy statement here.
